Harvard Business Review Chooses North Atlantic’s NPS 2000™ to Provide Flexible Editorial Workflow Management
Concord, MA, October 10, 2000 – North Atlantic Publishing Systems today announced that Harvard Business Review is deploying NPS 2000™ as the cornerstone of its editorial workflow management solution, as they move to expand editorial production.
Flexibility was a key concern for HBR in choosing a system that both met their current needs and provided a path to the future. Dana Lissy, Senior Production Manager at HBR, said that the customizable nature of NPS 2000 and the fact that it supports all applications made it especially attractive. HBR plans to utilize the NPS 2000 module for two-way copy-fitting between Microsoft Word™ and QuarkXPress™, but the fact that NPS 2000 does not require the use of QuarkXPress means that HBR has its options open as far as application choice is concerned.
Remote access for off-site editors was another key factor in choosing NPS 2000. With more and more editors working from remote locations, easy remote access is critical to effective collaboration. The web-based architecture of NPS 2000, providing the same robust functionality to all users regardless of location, was just the solution HBR was looking for to accommodate their expanding needs.
The installation of NPS 2000 at HBR was completed in mid September. After several weeks of fine-tuning the configuration and testing by the pilot group, HBR plans to roll out the system to all of its editorial users. As Senior Production Manager, Dana Lissy is looking forward to the ease of tracking production status with the new system – "very attractive." As an added bonus, she says "we’ve found everyone at North Atlantic to be knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive to our questions and concerns."
