North Atlantic Will Debut NPS 2000® at Seybold Boston; Web-Based Workflow Management Solution Re-Architected For Unparalleled Performance and Flexibility
Boston, MA, January 14, 2000 – North Atlantic Publishing Systems announced today that it will debut NPS 2000 at Seybold Boston 2000 in February. NPS 2000 represents the first architectural re-design of NAPS Publishing System (NPS) since its introduction in 1998. NPS 2000’s new design takes advantage of the trend toward more flexibility and higher-speed performance with its incorporation of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)® and its seamless integration of Microsoft SQL Server.®
Users will benefit from a faster and more scalable system with distributed software components as well as a distributed database. Improved integration with NT Server via Microsoft Transaction Server® gives system administrators the ability to control process management and to customize configurations for maximum efficiency. End users will see high-speed performance for all NPS functions, including file check-out/check-in, database queries, and browser-based previews. The improvement will have the greatest impact on users at high traffic sites, especially at heavy usage times.
The flexibility of NPS 2000’s architecture also streamlines the installation process, easing the burden on system integrators performing on-site installations and even making customer self-installations possible.
North Atlantic will introduce NPS 2000 at Seybold Boston and will begin installing it at customer sites in late February.
